Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course is expected to acquire: a) a solid knowledge of: differential and integral calculus for functions of several variables, vector fields and their integration along curves and surfaces; power series, Fourier series, uniform convergence and related properties; b) a good ability in calculating extrema, derivatives and integrals, and in solving differential equations.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his knowledge of the topics of the course. The written exam will concerns his ability to solve exercises; the oral exam concerns statements, proofs and examples.

Methods:

  • Final oral exam
  • Final written exam
  • Periodic written tests

Further information:
Final written + oral exam. No fixed percentage between the two parts. Written exam: the minimal score for the admission to the oral exam is 15/30 Oral exam: the minimal score for passing the exam: 18/30. During the course two intermediate written tests may allow the student to skip the final written exam, if his score in both tests is not less than 18/30.
