Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to recognize the issues related to psychological, psychopathological, relational and social implications of Eating Disorders in their evolution in different society settings and ages. The student will be able to acquire a basic knowledge of the theoretical basis for the development of Eating Disorders, and to recognize the disorders in clinical setting.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
- The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.

Syllabus
The program will include a section dealing with history, social implications and evolution of eating habits and symbolic references through the ages and in various cultural contexts. In the same section the disorders will be presented in their main features, course and characteristic therapeutic and prognostic implications. The need for a multi-disciplinary approach will be also highlighted. In a practical section the program will include the discussion of the main clinical issue of different patients affected by Anorexia, Bulimia and other Eating Disorders.
