Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be aware of issues related to the development of agricultural production in connexion with the natural environment and to policies and legal instruments that, at the national and EU level, have had to object the promotion of sustainable agricultural production.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.

Syllabus
The course covers the interplay between the "matter" agriculture and the "matter" environment in international, european and national sources. Agriculture, land, environment:Natural environment and agriculture (cultivated); Environmental protection and development (rural) development. Carrying out agricultural activities-cultivation of the soil, forestry, animal husbandry and environmental protection- environment: From good agricultural practices to agri-environmental measures; Limits to the property and to the agricultural activitiesContractual tools of management of the rural environment; Organic Farming; Cultivation of transgenic varieties;defense of the territory: Soil protection; The Protected Areas;Forests and environment: from the geological constraints to environmental constraints; The protection of mountain areas; Discipline and water protection; Agriculture and biodiversity; Protection and enhancement of indigenous genetic resources.
