Knowledge
At the end of the training, the student must be able to:
Identify and use information tools; identify and collect data to detect any care needs; apply the basic principles of care.
Understand how to observe and interpret non-verbal messages (movement, posture, expressions); be available to listen to the patient using simple techniques; learn the techniques and necessary methodology to detect vital signs; be able to assist in the preparation and carrying out the medical visit.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be evaluated based on his/her ability to understand the reality of the health system; relate to the work environment; identify his own level of autonomy in relation to the needs and the characteristics of the patient and his relatives; apply the principles of the care process, act methodically, skillfully and with an appropriate attitude.

Further information:
Final exam with a maximum grade of thirty. The training will be evaluated at the end of each year through a practical exam which is given by the Training coordinator and by the mentors. In order to take the exam, the student must receive a positive evaluation from the professors. This evaluation takes place at the end of the year.

Syllabus
The training concerns procedures regarding:
-microclimate control, making up an empty bed or an occupied bed, hygienic care of the self-sufficient and non-self-sufficient patient.
In order to perform the data collection, the student uses the physiological method and/or the needs and/or the functional models of health, knows how to take the vital signs and uses the information described by the patient; observes and monitors the patient in order to detect the onset of complications.
The student follows the scientific motivations and the expected sequence of the procedure; acquires the technical ability to satisfy the patient’s basic needs; prepares the body according to the patient’s religious belief and coordinates the morgue service together with the nurse.
