Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge about the main issues related to an industrial product development, in particular concerning a powered vehicle, from the first idea of the product, its translation in technical specification, the validation of the project, of the product and of the process.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

Syllabus
The course takes in account main aspect of product development, starting from the notions about what a business plan is and tracing product development main steps and phases. To better understand this, notions about project planning and organization are given. Many influencing aspect are discussed such as regulations, competitor analysis, economics. A focus about the importance of innovation and intellectual propriety is given.
