Learning outcomes
Knowledge
the studente who successfully completes the course: will be aware of the main issues of insurance law, with particular attention to insurance contract law; will have the ability to understand future forthcoming legislation in insurance field and its consequences on enterprises and intermediaries' activity; will be aware of the importance of rules in the choices of insurers; will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of duties and proper activities of insurance intermediaries;
Assessment criteria of knowledge
- The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. - During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression. - the student, in a written paper or in final oral exam, must demonstrate critical awareness of the main issues studied and the ability to approach ever new practical and teoretical problems.

Syllabus
Insurance law will be illustrated mainly from the following specific perspectives: introduction and history of insurance law and regulation; insurance contract law; EU principles; non life and indemnity insurances; life and long term insurances; liability insurances; compulsory insurances; damages; insurance and finance; some recent important decisions
