Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to solve: static equilibrium and kinematics of rigid bodies and simple systems of connected rigid bodies; dynamics of rigid bodies and simple machines; free and forced vibration problems with one and two degrees of freedom systems. Students are also expected to acquire: knowledge of fundamental laws of friction, wear and lubrication; basic knowledge of mechanical transmissions.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
Students can choose between two types of written exam: first and second part separately (2 hours, 2 or 3 exercises), or complete program (3 hours, 4 exercises). Students that demonstrate a sufficient knowledge of the course topics can skip the subsequent oral examination.
Methods:
- Final oral exam
- Final written exam
