Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the procedure of cochlear implant, its indication and contraindication;
the student will be aware of the main audiological instrumentation and of their structural principles for hearing aid therapy.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (30 min, 30 questions multiple choice, open questions), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply.

Cochlear Implant. Models, components. Peadiatric cochlear implant. Cochlear implant in adult people. Surgery of cochlear implant. Complications. Intraoperative testing. Speech therapy in cochlear implant procedure.
Biomedical Engineering. Main concepts on biomedical instrumentation. Resistive sensor. Senosor for biomedical measures.Inductive nd capacitive sensors. Piezoelectirc sensors. Electrochemical sensors.Theory of linear circuits.
