Knowledge
Students are expected to:
– acquire the main numerical methods of applied mathematics for the solution of equations, problems linear algebra, linear equations systems, the calculation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors, the approximation of functions and interpolation and numerical integration.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.
In the written exam, the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organize an effective and correctly written reply.
The student must demonstrate the ability to put into practice the fundamentals illustrated in the lectures and to solve the problems proposed by the instructor.
