Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be aware of the main concepts of Probability and Statistics, though with a not too big mathematical apparatus. He will be able of treat simple practical situations in which Probability and/or Statistical concepts are involved.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (3 hours, choice of 2 essay questions), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

Methods:

  • Final oral exam
  • Final written exam
  • Periodic written tests

Teaching methods

Delivery: face to face

Learning activities:

  • attending lectures
  • individual study
  • Laboratory work

Attendance: Advised

Teaching methods:

  • Lectures
  • laboratory
