Knowledge
Acquisition of analytical and critical knowledge of the (i) petrographic, geochemical, petrological and characteristics of the associations of igneous (plutonic, volcanic and subvulcaniche) rocks of the Italian territory, (ii) relationships between igneous associations and geodynamic evolution of the Mediterranean area from the Paleozoic to the present.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be required to prepare a written report on a topic chosen with the teacher, with bibliography scrutiny and thin section examination. An oral discussion will follow.

Syllabus
The main part of the course is devoted to a detailed examination of the petrological and geochemical (including isotopes) and geodynamic aspects of the igneous rocks generated during the oceanic, convergent, collisional and post-collisional stages of the Alpine-Apennine Orogeny.
