Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the typical psychomotor development. He or she will be able to use the observation and evaluation criteria for identifying the progressive acquisition of skills involving both mental and motor activities in children with typical development and to distinguish them from children with developmental disability.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology and on his/her participation during the practical activities.
In the written report the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and he/she must explain his/her experience during the internship.

Syllabus
The course includes the internship in Child Neurology and Psychiatric Hospital during the first semester. In this period the student will attend the observational rooms tutored by professional educator to approach the main neuropsychiatric pathologies. During the second semester, the student will attend the classroom in infant school, elementary school and junior high school (scuola media inferiore) to learn the typical cognitive and psychomotor development.
