Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to diagnostic the most common pathologies of the digestive tract,pancreas and liver and biliary system. He will be to demostrate correlations between pathology and nutritional state. He will be able to formulate an alimentary programe specific for any pathology and nutritional deficit.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.

Pathology of the digestive tract: esophagus (gastro-esophageal reflux disease, dysmotility, acalasia, cancer); stomach (gastritis, peptic disease, dysmotility, cancer); small intestine (malabsorption, coeliac disease, Crohn disease, lactose intolerance, Bacterial Overgrowth); colon (irritable bowel syndrome, diverticular disease, polyposis, ulcerative colitis, cancer); liver and biliary tract (acute and chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, cholelithiasis, cancer); pancres (acute and chronic pancreatitis). Principle of clinical nutrition for each of these pathologies.
