Learning outcomes
Knowledge

The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to understand the basis of the most common and important obstetrics and gynecologic disorders; The student will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main symptoms, of the clinical presentation and of the management strategies of these diseases; Specific focus will be the development of clinical tools to identify, correctly manage and eventually refer to a specialist individuals affected by Obstetrics and Gynecologic disorders

 

Assessment criteria of knowledge

The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. - In the written exam (1 hours, 5-8 questions), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply. - During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

Further information:
The evaluation will be in the form of a written text with questions and free answers. Those who will not be able to attend the written text will be tested with an oral exam.

Syllabus

Specific contents of the study course will be: Endocrine disorders in gynecology, benign gynecologic diseases, including myomas, endometriosis, pelvic organ prolapse, precancerous cervical lesions and their screening, emergencies in gynecology and obstetrics. All these topics will include specific information on diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
