Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to perform a proper technical-economic comparison between processes to achieve the same goal in energy using. He will be aware of power systems management and of electric energy market. Furthermor he will be aware of the most current market forms and techniques of buying and selling of energy.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.
The student must demonstrate the ability to put into practice and to execute, with critical awareness, the activities illustrated or carried out under the guidance of the teacher during the course.

Final oral exam 80%.

Syllabus
The course provides notions on processes from source to end-use of energy, as well as environment aspects and energy budgets of fossil fuels, nuclear,renewable. Furthermor provides notions of process efficiency,rationalization in the use of energy and of economics of the construction and operation of plants.
The second part of the course focuses on power systems management, electric energy market and contracts(rewards and penalties).Lastly, some issues related to the Business Plan of a energy plant.
