Learning outcomes
Knowledge
This course aims to highlight the values, principles and techniques of dental public health and dental restoative tecniques.Literature about public health, health determinants, social epidemiology and global health will be the essential introductive materials.The student will have a deep knowledge and experience in the clinical management of individual special needs.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
With an interactive methodology the student will be assessed on his ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate dentistry terminology and to demonstrate the ability to put into practise and to execute the activities illustrated,under the guidance. of the teacher

Syllabus
Dental topics: dental epidemiology (evidence and tools), community based interventions for prevention of oral and tooth disease “outside from dental clinic”. Finally, principles of professional ethics will be investigated. The aim is programming of prevention interventions in patients with special needs, and not institutionalized, the elderly in nursing homes and not accepted, in patients in underserved communities. Dental anatomy, pathology caries, prophylaxis of caries, dental trauma. Materials and instruments for dental treatment units: rubber dam, resin composite, adhesion to dental tissues, light curing lamps.Dental clinical procedures and techniques; inlay, overlay, onlay, dental hypersensitivity, polishing
