Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of issues related to both the financing of innovation and the financial operations of a firm within the international environment. In particular, he/she will be aware of evaluation methods for innovative projects, of the characteristics of different sources of financing, and of management issues related to an international firm. While the course discusses theoretical foundations on the various issues, it also mixes in empirical evidence and discussion of firms' actual behaviors. Students will be encouraged to form study groups, that will discuss case studies or papers focussed on specific issues.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her ability to discuss the main course contents. In the written exam, the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply. With the case study presentation, to be made to the teacher and other students, the student must demonstrate the ability to approach a specific research problem, and organise an effective exposition of the results.
