Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully complete the course will be able to demonstrate a deeper knowledge in understanding the principal psychiatric disorders and the problems related to psychiatric diagnosis. He will be also be aware of the most important problems in health psychology and will demonstrate competence in understanding the psychological issues of patients with somatic disorders. Finally he will become competent in the most important clinical issues in the clinical psychology practice.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The practical activity is certified by the tutor(s) of the hosting institution and confirmed by a written report on the activities performed.

Syllabus
This course is a practical one. The student have to spend the 6 credit of this course in clinical facilities of the university of Pisa and of the Pisa University Hospital, in other Clinical Psychology wards as well as in public and private institutions that conveys psychological services, treatments or evaluations to see psychologist and other professional figures of mental health during their routine work. The student usually is able to see and follow the routine activity in: psychiatric wards, neuropsychology cabinet, psychological consultation for patients with somatic problems, clinical psychology wards and NGO devoted to the treatment of patients with drug abuse and/or psychiatric disorders. In each of the training activity the student is assigned to a tutor of the hosting institution who is responsible for the activity performed.
Bibliography
As a practical course no reference book is required. Students however are encouraged to make specific readings to go deeper in the specific topics of the training. The readings can be suggested by the tutors of training period.
