Knowledge
Students are expected to acquire:
some knowloedge of descriptive statistics, such as central values, measure of variances, frequency tables, linear interpolation, correlation and other measures of relation;
some knowledge of probability with particular focus on the most common random variables;
basic knowledge of the statistical inference, in particular point and interval estimation and test of hypothesis.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (2 hours, 6 exercises), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to be able to solve exercises of descriptive and inferential statistics.
