Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The students who successfully completes the course will have the knowledge in anatomy and histology of soft and hard tissue of oral cavity. They will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of basic lesion of soft tissue and their ability to heal. The student have to know correlations between systemic disease and oral lesion manifestation moreover, they have to correlate dermatologic manifestation with the oral signs. The students have to demonstrate to know the clinical symptoms and signs of oral lesions. They will able to do a diagnosis and to know surgical principles of biopsies.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
the students will assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. During the oral exam the students must be able to demonstrate the knowledge of hysto-pathological lesions or oral cavity (lesions of soft and hard tissue). They have to demonstrate the knowledge of clinical aspects of oral lesions and correlation with systemic manifestations. The student have to demonstrate the ability to recognize a lesions and organize a bioptic exam where is necessary.

Syllabus
the course cover the part of anatomy and histology of oral cavity, with particular attention to the hysto-pathological aspects of epithelial, connective tissue. a part of the course will be dedicated to the basic lesion of oral cavity and them clinical manifestation. A part of course will be dedicated about the diagnosis of oral lesions and about their correlation with systemic diseases. in the course will be discussed the property to do a surgical biopsy of oral lesion.
