Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will have a solid knowledge of technical terminology in various areas of economics, law and logistics. He or she will be able to read and produce different types of general and specialized texts, e.g. e-mails, bills of lading, customs forms, letters of credit etc. Finally, he or she will demonstrate the ability to conduct a conversation in a business context.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her ability to use correct grammar structures and appropriate terminology in the field of economics, law and logistics. He/she will be required to understand written texts and be able to write a business e-mail. In the oral exam students will asked to conduct a role-play in a business-related context.

Syllabus
Students will first revise and extend the grammar acquired at school and will then focus on the recurrent syntactic and stylistic features of technical/business writing. Basic and more advanced vocabulary used in the fields of economics, law and logistics will be presented and practiced through class exercises. Students will also develop practical language skills in reading comprehension. A part of the course will be specifically dedicated to e-mail writing and to the development of oral skills, including telephone techniques.
