The course will be divided into two parts.
The first part, Theory of International Relations, will deal with reference to: the definition of IR as academic discipline, the main interpretative IR theories (realism, liberalism, international society approach, constructivism, international political economy), the foreign policy analysis and the deepening of concrete cases and crises.
The second part will cover the relevant aspects of the European Union. Initially, the teacher will provide a general overview of the history of the integration process and the description of the main institutions (Commission, Council of Ministers, European Council, European Parliament) and others (Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the European Agencies, the European Bank of Investments, the European Systems of the Central Banks, the European Political Parties).
