The purpose of the course is to teach the basic notions and fundamental aspects of Gynecology and of Midwifery which are valid for the practicing physician.
The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course at the board will be assessed.

Lo studente dovrebbe avere conoscenze dell'anatomia patologica dell'apparato genitale femminile e di farmacologia

Teaching methods:
The course gives an introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the female and the male genital system. Specific topics are discussed in detail such as anomalies during the menstrual cycle, fertility control, climacteric and menopause, benign and malignant gynecological neoplasm, physiology of pregnancy and of delivery, infectious and metabolic diseases during pregnancy. Part of the course will be dedicated to some aspects of the gynecologic surgical therapy.
