The student will have the ability to read (mostly) scientific texts in English and to summarize their content using words/phrases other than that of the original text.
The student will be required to read, translate and resume a few short texts in English, all relevant to Chemistry. Correct pronounce is appreciated, but it's more important for the student to demonstrate that she/he understood what she/he read and is able to accurately convey the text content to others.

Teaching methods:
A typical lecture consists of reading brief parts of scientific papers in English (a correct pronounce is obviously welcome, but non mandatory) and translating it. Then a short summary is given by the student with the aim of identifying the main content of the text. If the average level of the attendants is good enough, on line lectures will also ne used to help students understand spoken English.
