Non-attending students info

In general it is advisable to follow the lessons in the classroom, to make the learning more effective of the proposed topics and to simplify the preparation in view of passing the final exam. The lecture notes of the course can be found on the E-Learning portal of the School of Engineering of the University of Pisa.

It is suggested to attend the course, since there are some interactive exercises useful for the preparation of the examination. In addition, the positive outcome of these exercises assure the students with a bonus on the final mark of the exam.

Assessment methods

The exam includes a written test consisting of ten questions. Some of the latter may concern simple examples of application of concepts and methods presented in class, or, as open questions, may require a brief description of methodologies and topics described in class. The use of lecture notes or personal notes or other bibliographic sources is not allowed. Participation in the written test can take place only after appropriate registration that must be done through the University exam registration web site available at https://esami.unipi.it/esami/. Then the students that gained a sufficient mark in the written test will be admitted to the oral exam which will concern clarifications on the written test and a discussion on the basic contents and concepts of the course.
