Conoscenze

Knowledge

The student who successfully completes the course will be able to perform effortlessy on a Linux computer all the main tasks required for a mathematician, as writing in TeX and LaTeX, composing simple web pages in HTML, exchanging files between networked computers, using local and remote computers for computations. He/She will have a firm grasp of the fundamental concepts of networked computers and no undue fear for informatic complexities.

Assessment criteria of knowledge

The student will be able to continuosly check his/her progresses during the laboratory sessions by comparison with fellow students in nearby computer postations. Self evaluation via online multiple choiche tests will checkpoint the status of each student progress.

Methods:

  • Continuous assessment
  • Periodic Quizzes/multiple choice

Further information:
Student are expected to assist at last 7 session out of 10 and to perform self evaluation via online tests.
