Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the Slavic civilization from its origins up to the 10th century; he/she will be aware of the historical and cultural processes that led to the christianization of the Slavs, to the rise of the first Slavic literary language, and to the distinction between a so called "Slavia latina" and a so called "Slavia orthodoxa".
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.

The course aims at presenting the main processes of the historical, cultural and linguistic development of the Slavic civilization from the origins up to the 10th century.
