For first-year students
- no specific prerequisites are required on the Portuguese language world, but a good general knowledge (high school level) of Italian and international history and literature is desirable
For second-year students
- in addition to a good general knowledge (high school level) of Italian and international history and literature, they presuppose all the knowledge acquired during the first year of the course
For third-year students
- all the knowledge acquired in the first and second year of the course is assumed

- sono tenute in italiano, mentre i testi saranno letti in lingua originale accompagnati da traduzione (quando esiste) o da una traduzione di servizio
- si svolgono in aula, con l'ausilio di materiali audio e video e, eventualmente, di slides su determinati argomenti

- si useranno Antologie di testi elaborate ad hoc dalla docente (i testi sono in prevalenza in lingua portoghese)

Lessons are held in Italian, while the texts will be read in the original language accompanied by a translation (if it exists); they will take place in the classroom, with the aid of audio and video materials and, possibly, slides on certain topics
As for the material, the professor will use Anthologies of texts elaborated ad hoc (the texts are prevalently in Portuguese); the Moodle platform will be used for professor / student interaction and sharing of materials distributed during lessons, as well as for bibliography or other materials that are difficult to find

Per il primo e secondo anno:
Há mar e mar, há ir e voltar: letteratura e guerra coloniale, tra Portogallo e Africa
Tra il 1961 e il 1974 il Portogallo è impegnato in una sanguinosa guerra "civile" nelle colonie africane di Mozambico, Angola e Guiné Biassau. Con la caduta del regime salazarista il 25 aprile 1974 si avvia una problematica decolonizzazione che, se da un alto determina finalmente la fine del colonialismo e l'inizio dell'autodeterminazione delle ex-colonie, dall'altro provoca in Portogallo il drammatico problema dei cosiddetti "retornados". Attraverso la lettura dei dei romanzi Os Cus de Judas (In culo al mondo), di António Lobo Antunes, A Costa dos Murmúrios (La costa dei sussurri) di Lídia Jorge, Mayombe (id) di Pepetela e O retorno (Il ritorno) di Dulce Maria Cardoso, si seguirà il conturbato periodo che va dal 1961 al 1974 in Portogallo, dal punto di vista politico e letterario.
Per il terzo anno:
Per gli studenti di terzo anno, che hanno già sostenuto le due annualità, si concorderà un programma ad hoc, e saranno coinvolti nel progetto PRA Per una nuova antropologia del personaggio: persistenze del realismo e del modernismo (1945-oggi) e in altre attività seminariali. L'obiettivo è avviarli alla pratica della ricerca in autonomia nei suoi vari aspetti (anche in vista della redazione della Prova finale e del proseguimento degli studi): dalla selezione dell'argomento, alla identificazione della bibliografia, al repertimento della stessa, alla presentazione e discussione delle letture compiute, fino alla redazione di unelaborato critico. Il taglio sarà seminariale e pratico.
Programme (contents of the course)
For the first and second year:
Há mar and mar, há ir and voltar : literature and colonial war, between Portugal and Africa
Between 1961 and 1974, Portugal is engaged in a bloody "civil" war in the African colonies of Mozambique, Angola and Guiné Biassau. With the fall of the Salazarist regime, on April 25, 1974 a problematic decolonization began, which, if on the one hand finally determines the end of colonialism and the beginning of the self-determination of the former colonies, on the other it provokes the dramatic problem of the so-called "retornados". Through the reading of the novels Os Cus de Judas (In the Ass to the world) , by António Lobo Antunes, A Costa dos Murmúrios (The coast of whispers) by Lídia Jorge, Mayombe (id) by Pepetela and O retorno (The Return) by Dulce Maria Cardoso, we will follow this disturbed period from 1961 to 1974 in Portugal, from a political and literary point of view.
For the third year:
For third-year students who have already supported the two years, there will be an ad hoc program, and they will also be involved in the project called For a new anthropology of the character: persistences of realism and modernism (1945-today) and other activities/seminars. The goal is to introduce them to the practice of research in autonomy in its various aspects (also in view of the preparation of the final exam and the continuation of studies): from the selection of the topic, to the identification of the bibliography, to the retrieval of sources, to the presentation and discussion of the readings, up to the preparation of a critical report. The persective will be seminarial and practical.

Per i non frequentanti il programma è identico. Il voto finale sarà unico e risulterà dalla media ponderata delle varie attività previste, che consistono in:
- prova scritta PROPEDEUTICA all'orale. La prova scritta consiste in un test diviso in due parti. Nella prima, un po' più nozionistica, lo studente dovrà definire in modo preciso ma sintetico alcuni fenomeni dati, dovrà indicare date o autori, dovrà collocare nel tempo avvenimenti storico-politici e decidere sulla veridicità di alcune affermazioni. Nella seconda, più libera, dovrà esprimersi in italiano corretto presentando un autore o una corrente, commentando un testo in prosa e un testo poetico.
- prova orale sui temi del corso
Gli studenti si dovranno iscrivere sia alla prova scritta sia alla prova orale sul Sistema d'Ateneo (le iscrizioni terminano 5 giorni prima della data della prova: non saranno accettati studenti non iscritti).
Lo studente potrà sostenere la prova ORALE anche in un appello successivo a quello nel quale ha sostenuto (e superato) la prova scritta (propedeutica). Tuttavia, se non conclude l'esame entro le due sessioni successive, dovrà ripetere la prova scritta.
The final vote will will result from the weighted average of the various activities planned, which consist of:
- A compulsory written test before the oral exam. The written test consists of a test divided into two parts. In the first one, which is a little more notionistic, the student will have to define in a precise but synthetic way some given phenomena, s/he will have to indicate dates or authors, place historical-political events in time and decide on the reliability of some statements. In the second, a freer part, s/he will have to express him/herself in Italian correctly by presenting an author, commenting on a prose text and a poetic text.
- An oral exam on the course topics.
Students must register both for the written test and for the oral examination on the University System (registration will end 5 days before the test date: non-registered students will not be accepted). The student can also take the ORAL exam in an exam session which is subsequent to the one in which he / she passed the written test (preparatory). However, if you do not complete the exam within the next two sessions, you will have to repeat the written test.

Il 24 settembre 2018, alle ore 12, in Auletta seminari di Palazzo Matteucci ci sarà una presentazione dell'offerta formativa di Lingua e di Letteratura portoghese.
Il corso è rivolto agli studenti LIN (9 cfu) e LET (9 cfu).
- Gli studenti LET che eventualmente dovessero maturare solo 6 cfu sosterranno il test scritto e limiteranno la preparazione a una parte del programma che verrà loro indicata.
- Gli studenti LET che eventualmente dovessero maturare 12 cfu dovranno affrontare il programma completo da 9 cfu e in più dovranno consegnare, una settimana prima della prova orale, un elaborato scritto (in buon italiano, completo di bibliografia, seguendo le Norme di redazione caricate su Moodle) su un argomento di approfondimento concordato con la docente.
Si invitano gli studenti a iscriversi sulla piattaforma Moodle, sulla quale verranno caricati tutti i materiali distribuiti a lezione e tutte le informazioni utili e complementari per affrontare l'esame.

On September 24th 2018, at 12.00 pm, in Auletta Seminari at Palazzo Matteucci there will be a presentation of the educational offer of Portuguese Language and Literature.
The course is addressed to students of LIN (9 cfu) and LET (9 cfu).
LET students who eventually have to acquire only 6 credits will sit the written test and just prepare one part of the programme that will be indicated to them.
LET students who may have to earn 12 credits will have to face the complete 9-cfu programme and one week before the oral examination they will have to hand in a written assignment (in good Italian, complete with bibliography, following the editorial rules uploaded on Moodle) on a topic agreed with the professor.
Students are invited to register on the Moodle platform, on which all the materials distributed in class and all the useful and complementary information to face the exam will be uploaded
