Alla fine del corso lo studente avrà approfondito le sue conoscenze in relazione a:
- La presenza ebraica in Europa nel Medioevo e sino ai primi lustri del Cinquecento
- I network mercantili ebraici in età medievale e primo-moderna
At the end of the course students will have improved their knowledge about:
- Jewish presence in Medieval Europe until the beginning of the 16th century.
- Jewish trade networks in the Middle Ages and in the Early Modern period (16th century)
Esame scritto e preparazione di un seminario (su base volontaria, con esposizione durante il corso, se i numeri lo consentono). Nel caso l'emergenza Covid impedisca di svolgere gli esami in presenza, l'esame sarà orale. Durante la prima lezione verranno comunque presentate entrambe le modalità d'esame possibili.
Final written exam; seminar activity on a voluntary basis (see "Assessment methods"). In case the Covid emergency prevents you from carrying out the exams in person, the exam will be oral. During the first lesson, both possible exam methods will be presented.
Alla fine del corso lo studente sarà in grado di:
- Conoscere in modo adeguato le caratteristiche della presenza ebraica in Europa (con qualche cenno anche al mondo musulmano extra-europeo)
- Esporre in maniera critica le più recenti acquisizioni storiografiche sul tema
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- Have an adequate knowledge of the characteristics of the Jewish presence in Europe (with some mention of the extra-European Muslim world)
- Debate in a critical way the recent historiography on this theme
- Saranno svolte attività pratiche per la ricerca delle fonti attraverso l'utilizzo di noti database
- Practical activities will be carried out to search for sources through known databases

Students will become aware of the complexity of Jewish presence in Medieval Europe.

- Relazione scritta di 7-8 cartelle su un tema a scelta dello studente (fra quelli trattati a lezione).
- La frequenza (per i frequentanti, ovviamente) e la partecipazione ATTIVA alle lezioni concorreranno alla valutazione finale
- Il punteggio sarà così attribuito: 1. 60% all'esame scritto; 2. 35% alla relazione scritta; 3. 15% frequenza e partecipazione attiva.
