In un primo momento si cercherà di sviluppare un pensiero critico rispetto al concetto di "francofonia" in letteratura, quindi si passerà alla contestualizzazione e all''analisi delle opere in programma.
Al termine del corso lo studente avrà acquisito conoscenze in merito alla storia dell'Algeria e sarà in grado di ritracciarne i confini grazie all'analisi delle opere in programma.
At first we will try to develop a critical thought concerning the concept of "francophonie" in literature, then we will pass to the analysis of the texts in the syllabus.
By the end of the course students will have acquired knowledge about the history of Algeria and will be able to retrace its borders thanks to the analysis of the works in the program.
Si alterneranno lezioni di tipo frontale e lezioni di tipo seminariale. Durante le ultime lezioni, nel momento dell'esposizione del progetto di relazione, si darà ampio spazio alla discussione collettiva. La verifica delle conoscenze sarà oggetto della valutazione dell'elaborato scritto previsto all'inizio di ogni sessione d'esame.
Frontal lessons and seminar-type lessons will alternate. During the last lessons, during the presentation of the draft report, ample space will be given to the collective discussion. Academic progress will be monitored and verified from the written paper at the beginning of each exam session.
Al termine del corso, lo studente svilupperà la capacità di lavorare in gruppo durante l'attività seminariale; saprà parlare davanti agli altri svolgendo un’argomentazione scientificamente coerente, presentare una relazione scritta, contestualizzare e analizzare i testi in lingua originale e sviluppare capacità ermeneutiche.
By the end of the course students will have acquired teamwork skills in classroom; will be able to speak in front of others by carrying out a scientifically consistent argument, will be able to present a written report, contextualize and analyze texts in the original language and develop hermeneutical skills.
Saranno svolte attività pratiche per la ricerca delle fonti attraverso l'utilizzo dei più importanti database. Lo studente dovrà preparare e presentare una relazione scritta che riporti i risultati dell'attività di progetto. Durante i seminari si apprezzerà l'apporto personale all'analisi e alla riflessione.
Practical activities will be carried out to search for sources through known databases. Students will have to prepare and present a written report that documents the results of the project activity. During the seminars the personal contributions and reflections will be appreciated.
Lo studente potrà acquisire e/o sviluppare sensibilità alle problematiche legate alle letterature francofone.
Students will acquire and/or develop an awareness of French-speaking literatures issues.
Durante le attività seminariali il docente valuterà la capacità degli studenti di partecipare alla discussione esprimendo un punto di vista personale, di discutere le opinioni espresse dagli altri ed eventualmente di dissentirne in modo rispettoso.
The students' skills to contribute to the discussion in supporting a critical position, as well as their capacity to debate and respectfully disagree with the teachers and other students, will be tested during the seminar activity.
Agli studenti è richiesta una buona conoscenza nell'ambito della letteratura francese, nonché una competenza della lingua francese adeguata per seguire le lezioni, discutere degli argomenti trattati, svolgere una presentazione orale e scrivere una relazione scritta.
Students are expected to posse a good knowledge in French literature, as well as an adequate level of French to be able to follow lectures, discuss literary topics, make an oral presentation, and write an essay in French.
Durante il corso si alterneranno lezioni di tipo frontale e attività seminariale (con l'ausilio di slide e materiale multimedilale). Il materiale didattico verrà caricato sulla piattaforma Moodle. Per le comunicazioni docente-studente si incoraggia l'uso del forum presente sulla piattaforma Moodle.

Teaching will alternate frontal lessons with seminary activities (ectures, with visual aids such as powerpoints/videos, etc). The teaching material will be uploaded to the Moodle platform. For teacher-student communications, the use of the forum on the Moodle platform is encouraged.

Enquête dans l’œuvre de Maïssa Bey : la littérature peut-elle écrire les silences de l’Histoire ?
Dopo aver fornito un inquadramento storico-letterario della letteratura algerina di espressione francese, il corso si concentrerà sull’opera di Maïssa Bey focalizzando l’attenzione su quei testi che più di altri sembrano puntellare in maniera significativa le tappe dell’attività letteraria di questa autrice. A innescare l’attività creativa c’è sempre l’esigenza di rompre le silence per dire quello che nessuno è mai riuscito a dire nel tentativo di colmare i blancs della Storia.
Investigation in the work of Maïssa Bey: may literature write the silences of History?
The introduction to the course will provide a historic and literally framework of the Algerian literature in French language during the colonial era. The aim of the course is to analyse some novels published by Maïssa Bey focusing on those texts that more than others seem to significantly support the stages of this author's literary activity. To prompt the creative activity there is always the need to rompre les silences to say what no one has ever managed to say in an attempt to fill the blancs of History.

Non-attending students are requested to contact the teacher after carefully viewing the published syllabus.
Previo accordo con la docente, lo studente è tenuto a esporre in classe (in francese) un progetto di relazione su argomenti attinenti al programma. Dieci giorni prima dell’esame orale lo studente deve presentare la relazione per iscritto (in francese) e indicare i testi che intende portare all’esame orale. Il colloquio si svolge in francese.
Upon agreement with the teacher, the student is required to present (in French) a report on topics related to the syllabus. Ten days before the oral examination the student has to present his written report (in French) and to indicate the selected texts for the exam.The interview takes place in French.
