Knowledge

The student who successfully completes the course will gain a deep knowledge of ancient Egyptian social history and material culture. .

Modalità di verifica delle conoscenze

La verifica delle conoscenze sarà oggetto di valutazione seminariale in classe e attraverso una prova orale finale.

Assessment criteria of knowledge

Oral exam and seminarial work in the class. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

Capacità

Il fine del corso è di creare negli studenti un'approfondita capacità di discutere di problemi inereti la storia sociale dell'antico Egitto e agli aspetti pratici legati alla cultura materiale dell'Antico Egitto. Gli studenti saranno in grado di integrare in modo autonomo fonti archeologiche, iconografiche e testuali.

Skills

The students will develop a deep awareness of Ancient Egypt social history and material culture thorugh a critical approach to the use of ancient sources. He/she will be able to understand the importance to integrate archaeological, textual and artistic evidence for interpreting ancient Egyptian culture and history.

Modalità di verifica delle capacità

La verifica delle capacità sarà oggetto di valutazione seminariale in classe e attraverso una prova orale finale.

Assessment criteria of skills

Oral exam and semianrial work in the class.

Comportamenti

Gli studenti acquisiranno gli strumenti necessari per una completa comprensione critica delle problematiche connesse con le attuali linee di ricerca scientifica per la storia sociale e la cultura materiale dell'antico Egitto.

Behaviors

Students will acquire all the necessary tools for a complete critical understanding of the problems connected with the current research lines about the social history and the material culture of Ancient Egypt.

Durante il lavoro in classe saranno verificate l'acquisizione della metodologia e la sensibilità critica.

Assessment criteria of behaviors

During the class, the teacher will verify the correct acquisition of the methodology and critical approach.

Prerequisiti (conoscenze iniziali)

Aver già sostenuto gli esami di archaeologia egiziana e di egittologia.

Achieved the exams of Egyptology and Egyptian Archaeology.

Indicazioni metodologiche

Il corso è strutturato in maniera seminariale; prevede anche l'approccio diretto delle fonti e analisi dei manufatti archeologici.

Teaching methods

The class is structured in a seminarial way, with work at home and discussion in class.
