La prima parte del corso fornirà nozioni metodologiche per lo studio del teatro, dal punto di vista storiografico, drammaturgico e performativo. Saranno esaminati esempi tratti dalla storia dello spettacolo contemporaneo (attraverso la visione di spettacoli dal vivo, videoregistrazioni, documenti iconografici e altre fonti letterarie) nella prospettiva complessa della "comunicazione" con il pubblico.
La seconda parte del corso approfondirà un fenomeno particolare e diacronico della storia del teatro occidentale: la sopravvivenza di miti e figure retaggio della cultura greca attraverso riscritture e rielaborazioni.
The first part of the course will provide methodological notions for the study of theater, from the historiographical, dramaturgical and performative point of view. Examples from the history of contemporary entertainment will be examined (through the vision of live performances, video recordings, iconographic documents and other literary sources) in the complex perspective of "communication" with the public.
The second part of the course will deepen a particular and diachronic phenomenon of the history of Western theater: the survival of myths and legacy figures of Greek culture through rewriting and reworking.
L'acquisizione delle conoscenze sarà valutata attraverso un esame orale sui temi affrontati a lezione e sul programma d'esame indicato in bibliografia.
