Micro- and nanomanufacturing concepts and processes for biomaterials and biomedical devices. Flow and viscoelastic properties of polymers and nanocomposites. Characterization methods for structures at the nano and microscale. Fundamentals of surface functionalization and patterning techniques.
Final oral examination
After the completion of the course, students will understand mechanisms involved in polymer and composite patterning and be able to define the most appropriate patterning strategies according to the targeted application
Final oral examination
Understanding of the main properties of manufacturing tools for different applications, correct assignment of the appropriate manufacturing methods based on material properties and application purpose, fundamentals of polymer/nanofillers interactions and properties, understanding surface wettability phenomena
Final oral examination
The attendance of courses on fundamentals of polymers is suggested.
