Al termine del corso, lo studente avrà acquisito conoscenze approfondite relative all'archeologia e all'arte greca, con particolare riferimento ai temi affrontati.
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired detailed knowledge of Greek archaeology and art, with a particular emphasis on the topics examined.
Durante la discussione in aula e in sede d’esame orale sarà verificata la conoscenza della materia, con una particolare attenzione sulla capacità di sapersi orientare nel quadro teorico di riferimento. Lo studente dovrà dimostrare le sue conoscenze attraverso un linguaggio appropriato, maturando uno sguardo critico sui temi trattati durante il corso. A tal fine la partecipazione in aula sarà valutata positivamente.
During classroom discussions and oral exams, the understanding of the subject matter will be assessed, with particular attention to the ability to navigate within the theoretical framework of reference. The student must demonstrate their knowledge through appropriate language, cultivating a critical perspective on the topics covered during the course. For this purpose, active participation in the classroom will be positively evaluated.

Analysis and understanding of study material, critical reading of the scientific literature.
Le capacità saranno verificate attraverso l’analisi in aula di casi empirici del tema affrontato. I criteri di valutazione saranno: la capacità di comprensione e di esposizione; l’autonomia di giudizio; le abilità argomentative. Ai fini di affinare tali capacità la partecipazione in aula è raccomandata, da interpretare come un’opportunità di apprendimento. Le capacità saranno sottoposte a verifica anche durante l’esame finale, seguendo i criteri appena esposti.
The abilities will be assessed through the analysis of empirical cases related to the discussed topic in the classroom. The evaluation criteria will include: comprehension and presentation skills; independent judgment; argumentative abilities. In order to refine these abilities, classroom participation is recommended, to be understood as a learning opportunity. These skills will also be assessed during the final exam, following the criteria just mentioned.
Attraverso le attività di reporting individuale e di gruppo previste, l'insegnamento si propone di favorire lo sviluppo di condotte accurate, attente e appropriate, orientate alle sfide di contenuto, metodo e tempistiche insite nelle consegne ricevute dal docente.
Through the planned individual and group reporting activities, the teaching aims to promote the development of accurate, attentive, and appropriate behaviors, oriented towards the challenges of content, method, and timing inherent in the assignments given by the instructor.
L’acquisizione dei comportamenti verrà rilevata durante tutta la durata del corso.
Nello specifico saranno valutati positivamente i seguenti comportamenti: la puntualità nelle consegne, la qualità dei contenuti degli elaborati scritti, la partecipazione in aula e la proposta di temi di discussione, la gestione e organizzazione delle fasi progettuali.
The acquisition of these behaviors will be assessed throughout the duration of the course. Specifically, the following behaviors will be positively evaluated: punctuality in assignments, the quality of the content in written works, participation in the classroom and contribution of discussion topics, as well as the management and organization of project phases.
Aapprofondita dell'arte greca, fondamenti di storia antica e di lingua e letteratura greca. Questi forniranno i principali metodi e strumenti per comprendere in modo più approfondito i temi dell’insegnamento in oggetto. Non è possibile affrontare il corso senza conoscenze sicure relative alla storia, letteratura, arte e architettura del mondo greco.
An in-depth study of Greek art, foundations of ancient history, and Greek language and literature will provide the main methods and tools for a deeper understanding of the subjects taught. It is not possible to undertake the course without a solid knowledge of the history, literature, art, and architecture of the Greek world.
Il corso prevede lo svolgimento di 9 lezioni frontali di 90 minuti ciascuna, con proiezione di slides. Nel corso di tali sedute, gli studenti avranno la possibilità di presentare piccole ricerche autonome su oggetti o monumenti significativi. Le lezioni saranno tenute in italiano.
Le informazioni relative al corso, alla bibliografia, nonché le istruzioni per le presentazioni saranno fornite attraverso la pagina Moodle del corso, comune a entrambi i moduli. La pagina Moodle è accessibile tramite le credenziali di Ateneo. Tutte le comunicazioni tra le docenti e gli studenti avverranno tramite il blog della pagina Moodle.
The class includes 9 lectures of 90 minutes each, with slide show. During these meetings, students will be asked to present and discuss individual artefacts or contexts based on first-hand research. The lectures will be held in Italian.
Information on the course, study materials, and instructions regarding the presentation will be available on the course page on Moodle, which students may access using their University credentials. The instructors will communicate with students using the Moodle blog.
Il corso affronta lo studio della pittura vascolare attica a figure nere e a figure rosse tra il VI secolo a.C. e la prima metà del V secolo a.C., attraverso il caso di studio dei vasi decorati con scene della tradizione omerica. I temi trattati riguardano: la storia degli studi e i metodi di analisi; le tecniche di produzione della ceramica greca a figure nere e a figure rosse; l’organizzazione della bottega del vasaio e il ruolo dell’artista; l’uso del vasellame dipinto e la dimensione del simposio; le scelte tematiche per la decorazione dipinta (con particolare riferimento ai soggetti omerici); il rapporto tra le scene figurate e l’ornamento; il contesto storico, sociale e politico. È prevista una visita al Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze e una seduta di esercitazioni di lettura diretta delle opere presso l’Antiquarium dell’Università di Pisa.
The course addresses the study of Attic black-figure and red-figure vase painting from the 6th century BC to the first half of the 5th century BC, through the case study of vases decorated with scenes from the Homeric tradition. The topics covered include: the history of studies and methods of analysis; techniques of production of Greek pottery in black-figure and red-figure styles; the organization of the potter's workshop and the role of the artist; the use of painted pottery and the dimension of the symposium; thematic choices for painted decoration (with particular reference to Homeric subjects); the relationship between figurative scenes and ornament; the historical, social, and political context. A visit to the National Archaeological Museum of Florence is planned, as well as a session of exercises involving direct reading of works at the Antiquarium of the University of Pisa.
