Lo studente che ha seguito il corso avrà acquisito solide conoscenze relativemante alla fisiopatologia dell'udito, alle caratteristiche della sordità e ai sussidi uditivi utilizzabili nei pazienti affetti da ipoacusia. Lo studenta avrà inoltre appreso i fondamenti teorici alla base delle tecniche riabilitative logopediche rivolte al trattamento dell'ipoacusia nel bambino e nell'adulto, nonchè le modalità pratiche di approccio alla patologia.
The student who has followed the course will have acquired solid knowledge relating to the pathophysiology of hearing, the characteristics of deafness and the auditory aids that can be used in patients with hearing loss. The student will also have learned the theoretical foundations at the basis of speech therapy rehabilitation techniques aimed at the treatment of hearing loss in children and adults, as well as the practical methods of approaching pathology.

The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. - During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression. - The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course at the board will be assessed. - In the written exam (1 hour), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply.

Fisiopatologia del sistema uditivo. Inquadramento della sordità infantile. Cause di sordità nel bambino, cause genetiche, cause acquisite. Le forme genetiche sindromiche e non sindromiche, le X-linked e le mitocondriali. La neuropatia uditiva. Lo screening audiologico neonatale. La diagnosi precoce. Il trattamento precoce della sordità infantile. Sussidi uditivi: protesi acustiche ed impianti cocleari. Inquadramento e trattamento delle ipoacusie minime in età infantile. L'inquadramento e il trattamento della SSD in età infantile. Metodiche logopediche di trattamento della sordità: metodi oralisti, gestuali, misti. valutazione del paziente ipoacusico in età infantile ed adulta. Varie tecniche di riabilitazione logopedica nel bambino e nell'adulto ipoacusico.
