Il corso di Economia Industriale ha come obiettivo specifico lo studio del comportamento delle imprese all’interno del mercato. Particolare enfasi verrà posta sulle strategie adottate dalle imprese per massimizzare il proprio profitto, sugli strumenti concepiti per la loro attuazione e sulle conseguenze che ciò può avere sia per i consumatori che per la collettività in generale. Verranno analizzati i principali modelli di concorrenza oligopolistica (Cournot, Bertrand, Stackelberg), per passare poi alla collusione tra le imprese. Il corso ha un carattere prevalentemente teorico, ma non mancheranno continui riferimenti a casi di studio reali, che verranno discussi in aula. Una partecipazione attiva degli studenti alla lezioni è fortemente consigliata.
The Industrial Economics course has the specific objective of studying the behavior of companies within the market. Particular emphasis will be placed on the strategies adopted by companies to maximize their profit, on the tools designed for their implementation and on the consequences that this can have both for consumers and for the community in general. The main models of oligopolistic competition will be analyzed (Cournot, Bertrand, Stackelberg), to then move on to collusion between companies. Finally, we will analyze competition policies, which aim to defend consumers against anticompetitive practices adopted by businesses. The course has a mainly theoretical character, but there will be continuous references to real case studies, which will be discussed in the classroom. Active participation of students in the lessons is strongly recommended.
Al termine del corso lo studente avrà acquisito gli strumenti di base dell’analisi di economia industriale (concentrazione e struttura del mercato, tecniche di discriminazione di prezzo in regime di monopolio, concorrenza oligopolistica, differenziazione orizzontale e verticale, collusione).
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired the basic tools of industrial economics analysis (concentration and structure of the market, price discrimination techniques in a monopoly regime, oligopolistic competition, horizontal and vertical differentiation, collusion and antitrust).
L’accertamento delle capacità avverrà in sede di esame finale.
Per gli studenti frequentanti è prevista la possibilità di sostenere l'esame con due prove: la prima intermedia sulla microeconomia e la seconda sulla macroeconomia a fine corso.
Chi vuole potrà scrivere una tesina da presentare in aula alla fine del corso. La tesina sarà valutata fino ad un massimo di tre punti da sommare al voto dello scritto.
The assessment of skills will take place during the final exam.
Attending students have the opportunity to take the exam with two tests: the first intermediate on microeconomics and the second on macroeconomics at the end of the course.
Anyone who wants can write a paper to be presented in the classroom at the end of the course. The essay will be evaluated up to a maximum of three points to be added to the mark of the written paper.

L'esame consisterà in una prova scritta con cinque domande aperte su teoria ed esercizi. Per gli studenti frequentanti è prevista la possibilità di sostenere l'esame con due prove: la prima intermedia e la seconda a fine corso.
Chi vuole potrà scrivere una tesina da concordare col docente che dovrà essere presentata oralmente di fronte alla classe alla fine del corso. La presentazione della tesina conferirà fino a tre punti da sommare al voto d'esame. NOTA BENE: I PUNTI AGGIUNTIVI DELLA TESINA SONO VALIDI SOLO SE SI SOSTIENE L'ESAME AL PRIMO APPELLO.
