Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main processes and events in citizenship's history from the age of the Greek polis to the UE age, and their relationship to today’s world.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
- During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

  • Final oral exam
  • Written report

Further information:
The student will choose the way of his evaluation: oral 100% or to integrate the oral with a written test and essay redaction at the end of the lessons.

Syllabus
The course will develop the main outlines of the history of political and social institutions in Italy and in Europe, from Ancient age to twentieth century. Particular emphasis will be devoted to the analysis of political and institutional mechanisms in public and private policies. Rights and citizenship, and related practices, will be examined highlighting changes and asymmetries in social, cultural and institutional framework. The study of Italian History will be approached in an international context, with special attention to Europe History.
