Lo studente di Italianistica (S) potrà acquisire conoscenze relative:
(i) all'odierna discussione teorica sulla relazione tra linguaggio e pensiero, con particolare riferimento alla questione dell'origine del linguaggio;
(ii) all'attuale dibattito filosofico ed epistemologico intorno alla rilevanza della prospettiva evoluzionista per la comprensione della natura del linguaggio, del significato e della comunicazione.
The student of Italian Studies (S) and literatures will acquire knowledge about:
(i) the current theoretical debate on the relation between language and thought, with relation in particular to the question about the origin of the language;
(ii) the current philosophical and epistemological debate on the relevance of the evolutionary perspective for the understanding of the nature of language, meaning and communication.
Per l'accertamento delle conoscenze lo studente di Italianistica (S) dovrà svolgere in sede d'esame orale una presentazione in powerpoint relativa a un aspetto tematico rilevante tra quelli discussi nel corso.
During the oral exam the student of Italian Studies (S) will give a powerpoint presentation of one of the relevant thematic aspect discussed in the course.
Lo studente di Italianistica (S) sarà orientato, oltre che alla comprensione del ruolo centrale del linguaggio nel pensiero filosofico contemporaneo, al raffinamento della sua capacità di apprezzare il contributo che la riflessione filosofica e l'epistemologia apportano all'ambito delle odierne scienze del linguaggio.
The student of Italian Studies (S) will be guided both to understand the central role of language in contemporary philosophical thought and to improve his/her ability to appreciate the contribution that philosophy and epistemology bring to contemporary sciences of language.
Per l'accertamento delle conoscenze lo studente di Italianistica (S) dovrà presentare prima della prova orale una relazione scritta su un tema concordato con il docente.
The student of Italian Studies (S) will prepare a paper on one of the themes of the course that will be discussed during the oral exam.
Lo studente di Italianistica (S) potrà acquisire maggiore familiarità con i requisiti richiesti per una ricerca scientificamente adeguata relativa alle questioni filosofiche ed epistemologiche sul linguaggio.
The student of Italian Studies (S) will become more familiar with the requirements of a scientifically adequate research with relation to philosophical and epistemological questions about language.
Parte della letteratura in lingua inglese e preparazione di elaborati costituiscono elementi per verificare l'acquisizione di una maggiore familiarità con i requisiti richiesti per una comprensione e/o produzione scientifica e/o una professionalizzazione di portata internazionale.
The fact that part of the bibliography of the course is in English and the fact that students are required to prepare papers during the course allow to assess the acquisition on their part of the familiarity with the scientific understanding/production and the ability to internationally professionalize.
Per studenti di Italianistica (S): non sono richieste particolari propedeuticità, naturalmente un'avviata conoscenza linguistica può agevolare il percorso formativo.

In luogo del testo (2) si può concordare con il docente un testo relativo a un ambito tematico di rilevanza linguistica (grammatica, semantica, pragmatica, sociolinguistica, psicolinguistica, ecc.)
For the student of Italian Studies (S) the course bibliography is the following:

Upon agreement with the teacher, the student may substitute the text (2) with another text in linguistics (grammar, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, etc.

L'esame è costituito da una prova orale nella quale lo studente sarà a colloquio con il docente e un suo collaboratore.
Per il superamento della prova d'esame è richiesto allo studente: (1) di preparare una relazione su un articolo concordato con il docente, da discutere in sede d'esame, (2) di svolgere una presentazione in powerpoint su una tematica rilevante tra quelle oggetto del corso. Entrambe le prove costituiranno elemento di valutazione ai fini dell'esito dell'esame.
The exam is oral. The colloquium will start with (1) the discussion of the paper presented by the student and (2) the power point presentation on one of the relevant themes of the course. The rest of the colloquium will assess the student's knowledge of the course bibliography.
Il Corso di Filosofia del Linguaggio inizia lunedì 19 settembre alle ore 16.00 e continuerà con il seguente orario: Lunedì Martedì e Mercoledì dalle 16 alle 17.45 - Aula Barone al primo piano di via Pasquale Paoli 15.
