INIZIO LEZIONI: 18/02/2019, h. 12.00 Aula GUID-1
Modulo A: LA COMUNICAZIONE A TEATRO: DRAMMATURGIA E MESSINSCENA
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main processes and events in European and world history of theatre. He or she will be able to look critically and examinate a performance, basing on its dramatic text and its structural elements. Historical and critical examples will help the students to recognize theatrical functions and languages from different ages.
The second part of the course will deepen the history of five-seventeenth-century theater, with particular attention to the analysis of the relationships between erudite comedy, "commedia dell'arte" and Elizabethan dramas. The knowledge of two theatrical texts will be asked, which will be analyzed in class: Accademia degli Intronati: Gl'ingannati; William Shakespeare, Twelfth Night (in Italian translation).
.
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of language. The exam will also assess the skill level of the appropriate terminology in talking about performances.
