Il corso si rivolge a studenti già iniziati alle lingue semitiche e si svolge in modo seminariale. Verte sulla conoscenza di scritture epigrafiche semitiche, in particolare fenicia, aramaica, ebraica, siriaca.
The course focuses on the knowledge of Semitic epigraphic writings, in particular Phoenician, Aramaic, Hebrew, Syriac. Students are expected to possess a background knowledge on Semitic languages (e.g., they are expected to know at least two Semitic languages)
Prove in itinere e esame finale.
Tests during the course and final exam.
Capacità di decifrare iscrizioni in scritture semitiche (fenicia, aramaica, ebraica, siriaca), tradurle e commentarle sul piano linguistico e contenutistico.
Ability to decipher inscriptions in Semitic scriptures (Phoenician, Aramaic, Hebrew, Syriac), translate and comment on them on a linguistic and content level.

Buona conoscenza di almeno due lingue semitiche.
Good knowledge of at least two Semitic languages.
Il corso si svolgerà in modo seminariale, ovvero dopo le prime lezioni introduttive sarà richiesto agli studenti di affrontare autonomamente la decifrazione e la traduzione di epigrafi.
Sono previste lezioni fuori sede.
The course will take place as a seminar, i.e. after the first introductory lessons students will be required to independently deal with the deciphering and translation of epigraphs.

Il corso, dato lo svolgimento seminariale, non è disponibile per non frequentanti se non in casi particolari, p. es. in caso di dimostrata buona conoscenza di almeno due lingue semitiche.
The course is not available for non-attending students except in special cases, p. es. in case of proven good knowledge of at least two Semitic languages.
Esame orale.
