Il Laboratorio di Lingua Inglese (modulo A) ha l’obiettivo di sviluppare conoscenze funzionali, lessicali, grammaticali, fonologiche e abilità di comprensione, interazione e produzione orali e scritte per facilitare la comunicazione in ambito personale, pubblico, professionale e educativo con una competenza corrispondente al livello Base B1 del Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per le Lingue: ‘Comprende i punti chiave di argomenti familiari che riguardano la scuola, il tempo libero ecc. Sa muoversi con disinvoltura in situazioni che possono verificarsi mentre viaggia nel Paese di cui parla la lingua. È in grado di produrre un testo semplice relativo ad argomenti che siano familiari o di interesse personale. È in grado di esprimere esperienze ed avvenimenti, sogni, speranze e ambizioni e di spiegare brevemente le ragioni delle sue opinioni e dei suoi progetti.’. Particolare attenzione sarà posta sull’interazione orale, per lo scambio di informazioni personali, e sulla stesura ed esposizione del curriculum vitae et studiorum.
The Laboratory of English Language (module A) aims at developing functional, lexical, grammatical and phonological knowledge along with abilities of comprehension, interaction, oral and written production to facilitate communication at personal, public, professional and educational levels with competence corresponding to the B1 intermediate level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages:
- Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
- Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
- Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Allo studente si richiedono capacità di esposizione orale con pronuncia, intonazione e fluency accettabili; conoscenza lessicale adeguata; utilizzo di vocaboli e strutture comunicative e grammaticali nel contesto di un dialogo di livello intermedio; lettura, comprensione e traduzione di testi; capacità di commentare gli argomenti trattati.
Students are to be able to express themselves orally with acceptable pronunciation, tone and fluency; to have adequate lexical knowledge; to use vocabulary, communicative and grammatical structures in dialogue at an intermediate level; to read, understand and translate texts; to comment studied topics.

A - Base
- A1 - Livello base
Si comprendono e si usano espressioni di uso quotidiano e frasi basilari tese a soddisfare bisogni di tipo concreto. Si sa presentare sé stessi e gli altri e si è in grado di fare domande e rispondere su particolari personali come dove si abita, le persone che si conoscono e le cose che si possiedono. Si interagisce in modo semplice, purché l'altra persona parli lentamente e chiaramente e sia disposta a collaborare.
- A2 - Livello elementare
Comunica in attività semplici e di abitudine che richiedono un semplice scambio di informazioni su argomenti familiari e comuni. Sa descrivere in termini semplici aspetti della sua vita, dell'ambiente circostante; sa esprimere bisogni immediati.
A1 Beginner's level
- Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
- Can introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have.
- Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
A2 Elementary level
- Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
- Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
- Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Oltre alla frequenza al corso, si raccomanda vivamente di esercitarsi frequentemente con pratiche di ascolto e ripetizione di materiale audiovisivo autentico in lingua inglese. Nello studio dei testi in programma, si ponga l'attenzione soprattutto sulla comprensione lessicale e delle strutture sintattiche attinenti ai testi studiati. Si consiglia di fare esercizi di grammatica fino all'assimilazione delle strutture funzionali implicite nei testi.
Besides attendance, it is strongly recommended to practise frequently listening and repeating authentic English language audiovisual material. Studying the texts in programme, students should focus on understanding vocabulary and syntactic structures. It is advisable to do grammar exercises in order to assimilate functional structures in the texts.
Premesso che il programma è teso soprattutto all'acquisizione e al consolidamento della lingua inglese a livello B1 e non alla conoscenza di contenuti disciplinari e culturali, la lingua viene affrontata nei testi proposti con una curvatura affine per argomenti e vocaboli alle discipline del corso DISCO.
The programme is mainly aimed at acquiring and consolidating a B1 level of English language proficiency with a particular attention to issues and vocabulary related to the disciplines of performing arts and communication.
Parte del programma potrà modificarsi in corso di svolgimento del laboratorio.

Chi ha già acquisito 3 cfu, avendo superato la parte di lingua inglese del test d'ingresso (TOLC), porterà un programma ridotto secondo le modalità sopra indicate nella sezione "Bibliografia".
Gli studenti che hanno superato il TOLC Conoscenza di lingua inglese, per vedersi riconosciuti 3 CFU dei 6 di “Laboratorio di inglese A”, devono stampare l’attestato di partecipazione sul sito del Cisia (utilizzando il barcode che è stato loro assegnato il giorno della prova Consorzio Cisia) e mostrarlo al docente del Laboratorio il giorno dell’esame.
