Il corso è dedicato all'insegnamento dei fondamenti della scrittura pubblica e scientifica, con particolare attenzione alla scrittura della tesi di laurea. Durante il corso gli studenti impareranno a distinguere le fonti scientifiche da quelle non scientifiche, la strutturazione logica del testo e della tesi, la formattazione, la ricerca bibliografica e la scelta della struttura sintattica e grammaticale adeguata ai contenuti.
- Learning to write papers is a fundamental requirement for students of social work and social sciences. This course will teach how to write a basic scientific text or a text for standard public communication. Students will learn:
- to distinguish scientific and not scientific sources
- the logic structure of text
- text formatting
- bibliographic research
- choosing an adequate syntactic and grammatical structure
Le conoscenze saranno verificate attraverso un confronto continuo in aula e l'assegnazione di esercizi e la loro correzione.
Knowledge will be tested through continuous classroom discussion and assignment of exercises and their correction.
Gli studenti verranno accompagnati nella strutturazione di una prima proposta di tesi. Essi dovranno inoltre familiarizzare con le procedure più adeguate alla conduzione di una ricerca bibliografica completa, da realizzare con il supporto delle specifiche applicazioni dedicate a questo scopo. Infine, gli studenti verranno guidati nella fase di analisi delle fonti e di stesura vera e propria.
Students will be accompanied in the structuring of a first thesis proposal. They will also have to familiarize themselves with the most appropriate procedures for conducting a complete bibliographical research, to be carried out with the support of specific applications dedicated to this purpose. Finally, students will be guided in the phase of analysis of sources and actual writing.
Gli studenti sono posti, entro modelli di apprendimento che privilegiano la loro partecipazione diretta. Sono quindi stimolati a sperimentare in prima persona le difficoltà che normalmente incontrano nel processo di scrittura in tutto il suo ciclo, dalla ricerca delle fonti sino alla scrittura vera e propria.
Students are placed within learning models that privilege their direct participation. They are therefore stimulated to experience firsthand the difficulties they normally encounter in the writing process throughout its cycle, from researching sources to actual writing.
Gli studenti potranno acquisire e sviluppare la accuratezza e precisione essenziali per la strutturazione di un lavoro di tesi, per le attività di raccolta e analisi del materiale bibliografico e per l'utilizzo di uno specifico stile di citazioni.
Students will be able to acquire and develop the accuracy and precision essential to structuring a thesis paper, to the activities of collecting and analyzing bibliographic material, and to the use of a specific citation style.
Durante le sessioni laboratoriali saranno valutati il grado di accuratezza e precisione delle attività svolte. Sarà inoltre richiesto agli studenti di impegnarsi in simulazioni di scrittura di abstract, raccolta del materiale bibliografico e formattazione e impaginazione del lavoro
During the laboratory sessions, the degree of accuracy and precision of the activities performed will be evaluated. Students will also be required to engage in simulations of abstract writing, collection of bibliographic material and formatting and layout of the work.

Il corso è dedicato all'insegnamento dei fondamenti della scrittura scientifica e più in particolare della scrittura della tesi di laurea. Durante il “Laboratorio di scrittura per le scienze sociali” gli studenti imparano a distinguere le fonti scientifiche da quelle non scientifiche, la strutturazione logica del testo, la corretta formattazione, la ricerca bibliografica, la scelta della struttura sintattica e grammaticale adeguata ai contenuti.
La natura laboratoriale del corso si giustifica in ragione del fatto che la scrittura è un’attività pratica e pertanto la tradizionale didattica frontale è certamente necessaria, ma non è sufficiente a far acquisire le competenze indispensabili per a produrre un elaborato di qualità. Il corso si sviluppa attraverso esperienze pratiche guidate. In primo luogo, gli studenti verranno accompagnati nella strutturazione di una prima proposta di tesi. Il progetto di ricerca dovrà ovviamente corrispondere a quanto appreso durate le lezioni tenute dal docente titolare, ma sarà comunque il più possibile rispondente agli interessi del singolo studente. Nella seconda fase, gli studenti dovranno familiarizzare con le procedure più adeguate alla conduzione di una ricerca bibliografica completa, da realizzare con supporto delle specifiche applicazioni dedicate a questo scopo. L’obiettivo didattico è di apprendere a distinguere i diversi livelli delle fonti, a utilizzare le banche dati necessarie e, infine, a gestire il materiale bibliografico così raccolto. In seguito, si procederà alla simulazione di un piano d lavoro specifico per ogni studente nonché dei relativi processi di schedatura del materiale bibliografico ed empirico. Infine, nella fase conclusiva, gli studenti verranno guidati alla stesura vera e propria del testo concordato. Il laboratorio vedrà la presenza di seminari tenuti da due docenti specialisti, dott.ssa Elena Gremigni (esperta di scrittura scientifica) e dott. Alberto Demagistris (saggista e scrittore).
The course is dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of scientific writing and more specifically thesis writing. During the "Writing Workshop for the Social Sciences" students learn how to distinguish scientific from non-scientific sources, logical structuring of the text, correct formatting, bibliographic research, and the choice of syntactic and grammatical structure appropriate to the content.
The laboratory nature of the course is justified by the fact that writing is a practical activity and therefore traditional frontal teaching is certainly necessary, but it is not sufficient to acquire the skills necessary to produce a quality paper. The course is developed through guided practical experiences. First, students will be accompanied in the structuring of a first proposal of thesis. The research project must obviously correspond to what has been learned during the lessons held by the teacher, but it will still be as much as possible in line with the interests of the individual student. In the second phase, students will have to familiarize themselves with the most appropriate procedures for conducting a complete bibliographical research, to be carried out with the support of specific applications dedicated to this purpose. The educational objective is to learn to distinguish the different levels of sources, to use the necessary databases and, finally, to manage the bibliographic material thus collected. Then, we will simulate a specific work plan for each student as well as the related processes of filing bibliographic and empirical material. Finally, in the last phase, students will be guided to the actual writing.

In ragione della natura laboratoriale del corso, gli studenti saranno valutati sulla base dei risultati ottenuti durante le simulazioni. Il lavoro effettuato durante il corso verrà raccolto in una tesina finale sulla base della quale si otterrà il conseguimento dell'idoneità.
Due to the laboratory nature of the course, students will be evaluated on the basis of the results obtained during the simulations. The work done during the course will be collected in a final paper on the basis of which the eligibility will be obtained.
