Il corso affronterà la figura e l'opera di due dei maggiori autori della letteratura di lingua tedesca del primo Novecento, Rainer Maria Rilke e Bertolt Brecht. Si prenderà in esame la loro produzione drammatica, lirica e narrativa.
The course will address the figure and the work of two of the greatest authors of German-language literature of the early twentieth century, Rainer Maria Rilke and Bertolt Brecht.
Their dramatic, lyrical and narrative production will be examined.
Esame orale alla fine del corso. E' prevista anche attività di tipo seminariale.
Oral exam. Seminar activities are also foreseen.
Al termine del corso lo studente avrà acquisito un quadro delle figure e dell’epoca di riferimento, uno dei periodi più intensi e fecondi della storia e della letteratura tedesca del Novecento.
The students will acquire an overview of German literature through two central authors of the twentieth century such as Rainer Maria Rilke and Bertolt Brecht.
Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di possedere gli elementi e le nozioni acquisiti durante il corso e di porli in relazione tra loro in un discorso organico e criticamente fondato.
The student will have to demonstrate to possess the elements and notions acquired during the course and to relate them to each other in an organic discourse
Lo studente potrà ampliare i propri orizzonti di conoscenza rispetto alla letteratura tedesca attraverso due autori centrali del Novecento come quelle di Rainer Maria Rilke e Bertolt Brecht.
The students will be able to broaden their horizons of knowledge with respect to German literature of the first half of the Nineteenth Century
Durante il colloquio di esame si verificheranno le maturate capacità di riflessione ed elaborazione dati da parte dello studente.
During the exam the student's skills for reflection and data processing will be verified.
Non sono richieste propedeuticità particolari. E' comunque necessaria una buona conoscenza della lingua tedesca.
No special prerequisites are required. However, a good knowledge of the German language is required.
Le lezioni saranno di tipo frontale, con il possibile ausilio di strumenti telematici. E' previsto lo svolgimento di relazioni seminariali
The lessons will be frontal, with the possible help of telematic tools.
Si affronterà di Rilke la produzione lirica centrale attraverso esempi tratti dai Neue Gedichte, le Elegie Duinesi e i Sonetti a Orfeo, nonché il romanzo Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge. Di Bertolt Brecht la prima produzione lirica, quella moderna e dissacrante confluita nella raccolta Hauspostille, per poi occuparci del Brecht drammaturgo, da quello non-ancora-epico con esempi da Die Dreigroschenoper a quello non-epico di Furcht und Elend des Dritten Reiches a quello epico di Leben des Galilei.
Course will deal with Rilke's central opera production, the Neue Gedichte, the Elegie Duinesi and the Sonnets a Orfeo, as well as the novel Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge. Bertolt Brecht's first lyric production, the modern and irreverent one that merged into the Hauspostille collection, to then deal with the dramatist Brecht, from the not-yet-epic one with Die Dreigroschenoper to the non-epic one of Furcht und Elend des Dritten Reiches to the epic one by Leben des Galilei.

La prova è orale e consiste in un colloquio tra lo studente e il docente riguardo ai contenuti del corso. Il docente porrà allo studente domande tese all'accertamento della conoscenza di tali contenuti e volte a indagare l'assimilazione degli stessi nei loro nessi di reciprocità e interdipendenza.
Oral test about the contents of the course. The teacher will ask the student questions aimed at ascertaining the knowledge of such contents and aimed at investigating the assimilation of the same in their links of reciprocity and interdependence.
