- Gli studenti saranno in grado di analizzare dati linguistici reali di una gamma di lingue diverse in termini tanto fonetici quanto fonologici.
- Gli studenti saranno in grado di applicare le capacità analitiche così acquisite a nuovi problemi tanto nell’ambito delle scienze del linguaggio quanto in altri ambiti.
- Students will know how to analyse real-world language data from a range of languages in both phonetic and phonological terms.
- Students will be able to apply the acquired problem-solving skills to new issues both within and without the language sciences.

Alla fine del corso, gli studenti avranno familiarizzato con i metodi e risultati della fonetica moderna e della teoria fonologica. Saranno stati guidati in una panoramica generale di entrambe le discipline per quanto attiene a differenti livelli di analisi. I principali approcci teorici verranno presentati e confrontati.
By the end of the course, students will be acquainted with the methods and results of modern phonetics and phonological theory. They will have been guided through a broad overview of both disciplines with regard to different structural levels. Various major theoretical approaches will be introduced and compared.
