Il “Laboratorio di Preistoria” integra i corsi di archeologia Preistorica con approfondimenti teorici e pratici sullo studio ed analisi delle classi di materiali ai fini di recuperare informazioni sul comportamento umano del passato e sulle metodologie di studio e documentazione degli stessi.
The " Laboratory of Prehistory" integrates the courses of Prehistoric Archaeology with theoretical and practical insights on the study and analysis of classes of materials in order to learn how to recover information on human behavior of the past and on the methodologies of study and documentation of the artefacts.
La verifica dell’acquisizione delle conoscenze avviene in modo interattivo durante le lezioni frontali di laboratorio e la realizzazione eventuale di elaborati individuali.
The acquisition of knowledge is verified interactively during the laboratory lectures and the possible realization of individual works.
Le attività del Laboratorio forniscono conoscenze necessarie al riconoscimento dei manufatti e allo studio analitico degli stessi attraverso la manipolazione e l'osservazione diretta di oggetti e materiali con l'ausilio delle collezioni didattiche.
The Laboratory activities provide knowledge necessary for the recognition of artifacts and the analytical study of the same through the manipulation and direct observation of objects and materials with the help of educational collections.
La verifica delle capacità avviene mediante costante interazione con gli studenti nel corso della presentazione delle diverse attività e tematiche affrontate dal Laboratorio.
The verification of skills takes place through constant interaction with students during the presentation of the various activities and themes addressed by the Laboratory.
Gli studenti sono coinvolti nella discussione degli argomenti trattati con costante interazione durante le attività pratiche.
Students are involved in the discussion of the topics with constant interaction especially during practical activities.
La verifica avviene mediante il dialogo o la realizzazione di elaborati.
The verification takes place through dialogue or the realization of documents.
E' consigliato avere delle conoscenze di base di Preistoria maturate nel ciclo di studi precedente o frequentando il corso della magistrale, ma non è obbligatorio.
It is recommended to have basic knowledge of Prehistory gained in the previous cycle of studies or by attending the master's course, but it is not mandatory.

In order to profitably follow the lessons of this course, it is recommended that you attend the Experimental Archeology course.
La frequentazione del Laboratorio di Preistoria aiuta lo studente per i corsi delle discipline archeologiche e integra il corso di Preistoria e Protostoria Europea.
Attending the Prehistory Laboratory helps the student for the courses of the archaeological disciplines and integrates the course of European Prehistory and Protohistory.
Le lezioni sono svolte con l'ausilio di supporti multimediali e manipolazione di collezioni e materiali.
The lessons are carried out with the help of multimedia supports and manipulation of collections and materials.
Il Laboratorio di Preistoria è articolato in lezioni frontali in cui vengono trattate e spiegate le caratteristiche e le modalità di studio di reperti ceramici, litici e in materia dura animale attraverso attività pratiche di riconoscimento.
Particolare attenzione vengono affrontati i seguenti temi principali:
-industria litica: approcci tipologici e tecnologici (catena operativa: materie prime, metodi e tecniche di scheggiatura, aspetti funzionali)
-manufatti ceramici: caratteristiche degli impasti, tecniche di manifattura, tecniche di decorazione, funzioni.
The Laboratory of Prehistory is divided into lectures in which the characteristics and methods of study of ceramic, lithic and hard animal materials are treated and explained through practical recognition activities.
Particular attention is paid to the following main issues:
-lithic industry: typological and technological approaches (operational chain: raw materials, methods and techniques of manufacture, functional aspects)
-ceramic artefacts: production techniques and characteristics, manufacturing and decoration techniques, analyses, function.
