Al termine del corso gli studenti avranno approfondito le loro conoscenze nell'ambito della letteratura di lingua tedesca, in particolare per quanto riguarda la produzione letteraria del Novecento.
At the end of the course the students will have deepened their knowledge in the field of German-language literature, in particular as far as the literary production of the 20th century.
Per l'accertamento delle conoscenze è prevista la redazione di relazioni su argomenti concordati con i docenti e la discussione seminariale durante il corso. Le relazioni, rielaborate anche sulla base della discussione collegiale, verranno valutate in sede di esame finale
For the assessment of knowledge the student is expected to prepare reports on topics agreed with the professors, and a seminar discussion during the course. The reports, also elaborated on the basis of the collegial discussion, will be evaluated during the final exam.
Le/gli studenti saranno in grado di analizzare in autonomia i testi letterari proposti e di inserirli correttamente nel loro contesto storico-culturale.
Students will be able to independently analyze the proposed literary texts and insert them correctly in their historical and cultural context.
Le relazioni da sottoporre alla discussione rappresenteranno una concreta applicazione delle tecniche di analisi affinate durante il corso.
The reports to be submitted to the discussion will represent a practical application of the analysis techniques refined during the course.
Saranno acquisite accuratezza e precisione nell'analisi del testo letterario.
Accuracy and precision in the analysis of the literary text will be acquired.
Durante le lezioni sarà di volta in volta valutato il grado di accuratezza e precisione acquisito nell'analisi del testo letterario.
During the lessons the degree of accuracy and precision acquired in the analysis of the literary text will be evaluated from time to time.
Buona conoscenza della lingua tedesca (livello consigliato C1). Nozioni di base di storia della letteratura di lingua tedesca e nozioni in merito alle principali metodologie critiche. Lettura di testi "canonici" dal Settecento al Novecento
Good knowledge of German (recommended level C1). Basic knowledge of the history of German-language literature and concepts. Reading of "canonical" texts from the 18th to the 20th century.
Il corso avrà struttura seminariale. I docenti presenteranno il contesto storico-culturale e i testi su cui si concentrerà il lavoro. Ciascuno studente individuerà un tema o un testo di suo interesse e ne riferirà durante il corso.
Dato il carattere seminariale del corso, ulteriori indicazioni bibliografiche potranno essere date a lezione dai docenti.
Le lezioni si terranno sia in italiano, sia in tedesco. I testi letterari verranno letti in lingua originale.
The course will have a seminar structure. The professors will present the historical and cultural context and the texts on which the course will focus. Each student will identify a theme or a text of his/her interest and will report on it during the course.
Considering the seminar character of the course, further bibliographical indications can be given by the lecturers.
Lesson will take place both in italian both in german Language. The literary Texts will be read in the orginal language.
Bertolt Brecht: gli anni Venti e l’esilio
Il corso presenta una selezione dell’opera teatrale, narrativa e lirica di uno dei più significativi autori del Novecento: scrittore, regista, teorico del teatro, intellettuale impegnato, Bertolt Brecht è una delle figure centrali nella scena culturale berlinese degli anni Venti. In fuga del regime nazionalsocialista, negli anni di esilio (1933-1948) compone opere considerate “classiche” per il teatro del Novecento e intensifica la produzione lirica e narrativa con testi che – in una notevole molteplicità di forme – riflettono criticamente gli eventi dell’epoca. In conclusione si farà accenno all’attività brechtiana successiva all’esilio, dopo il trasferimento nella DDR.
Il corso si divide in due moduli: A e B.
Modulo A (3 cfu)
Prof. Alessandro Fambrini
Il primo modulo si incentrerà sulla produzione brechtiana degli anni Venti del Novecento, di cui saranno affrontati i temi principali attraverso due opere rappresentative.
Modulo B (6 cfu)
Prof. Giovanna Cermelli
Il secondo modulo si incentrerà sulla produzione brechtiana negli anni dell’esilio (1933-1948), attraverso l’analisi di alcune opere teatrali e della produzione lirica e narrativa.
The course is divided into two parts:

The first part of the course will examine Bertolt Brecht’s works in the Twenties. It will be examined the main themes and works.
Module B (6 cfu) Prof. Giovanna Cermelli
The second part of the course will examine Bertolt Brecht’s work during the exile (1933-1948).

Further information will be given at the beginning of the course.
Il programma è lo stesso per frequentanti e non frequentanti. I non frequentanti sono pregati di rivolgersi ai docenti qualora necessitino di ulteriori indicazioni di lettura per la preparazione dell'esame. La relazione scritta è richiesta anche ai non frequentanti e sarà discussa direttamente in sede di esame. Deve essere inviata ai docenti almeno 5 giorni prima dell’esame.
The programme is the same for both attending and non-attending students. Non-attending students are asked to contact the professor if they need to have further reading instructions for their exam preparation. The written report is also requested for non-attending students and will be discussed during the exam. It must be handed in to the professor at least 5 days before the exam.
Prova orale. L'esame inizia con la discussione della relazione redatta dallo studente (che, nella sua forma definitiva, deve essere consegnata ai docenti almeno 5 giorni prima dell'esame). Partendo dalla discussione, il colloquio orale amplierà poi l'orizzonte incentrandosi su temi collegati a quelli già trattati dallo studente in forma scritta. Il colloquio si svolgerà in lingua italiana (su richiesta, anche in tedesco). Votazione espressa in trentesimi.
Oral exam. The exam starts with the discussion of the report prepared by the student (which, in its final form, must be handed in to the professor at least 5 days before the exam). Starting from the discussion, the oral interview will then broaden the horizon focusing on topics related to those already treated by the student in writing. The interview will take place in Italian (on request, also in German). Voting expressed in 30 points.
