Obiettivi di apprendimento
Conoscenze
Lo studente acquisirà strumenti utili a sviluppare conoscenze di base sulla letteratura e la poesia antiche.
Knowledge
The student will successfully completes the course, if he/she is already completely familiar with the Italian language (oral and written); in this case he/she will have the ability to critically analyze Italian literary texts, ancient or modern; he/she will be able to give a lecture about any text or author of italian literature; he/she will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of metric, stylistic, rhetoric applied to Italian literary texts.

La verifica delle conoscenze avverrà contestualmente alla prova orale finale.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course will be assessed.
With the oral presentation, to be made to the teacher and the other students, the student must demonstrate the ability to approach a circumscribed research problem, and organise an effective exposition of the results.
In the written report the student must demonstrate the ability to put into practice and to execute, with critical awareness, the activities illustrated or carried out under the guidance of the teacher during the course.

L'interpretazione testuale sarà uno degli obiettivi di maggior rilievo al fine di testare le capacità acquisite.

Lo studente acquisirà approfondite capacità di interpretazione e critica dei testi antichi.

Nel corso della prova orale finale sarà il docente stesso a valutare gli esatti comportamenti dello studente di fronte ai testi.

Argomento monografico del corso sarà una lettura specifica dei testi poetici del cosiddetto Dolce stil nuovo.
Syllabus
The course will focus on a topic monographic inherent in the history of Italian literature. This topic varies each year. The text on which it will focus this year (2014-2015) is the novel "Il gattopardo" (The leopard) by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. After a series of introductory lectures of the teacher, each student will have to take an oral report on some topics related to the novel, assigned by the teacher. During the lessons is expected the active participation of all students, with criticism about reports and other personal observations. At the end of the course each student will deliver the written version of his/her report, according to the instructions provided by the teacher.
