Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will have a whole vision of stress, both from a psychological and biomedical point of view. The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge and understanding of complexity of the mechanism underlying the response to an acute or chronic stress. The student who completes the course successfully will be able to understand the research methods and the major theories and principles in the field. She or he will be also able to demonstrate a solid understanding on how psychological research methods, theories, and principles can be applied to enhance biomedical approaches for promoting health and treating illnnes due or related to stress. She or he will be aware of the complex interplay between one's physical well-being and a variety of biological, psychological and social factors.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written (2 hours, both open and multiple choice questions)and oral exams, the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply. - The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course at the board will be assessed. - During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss clinical or simulated cases thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.
