La rivoluzione digitale ha avuto un profondo impatto sul modo in cui oggi la storia viene studiata, analizzata, condivisa oltre che sul modo in cui le fonti che documentano i fenomeni del passato vengono pubblicate, conservate e addirittura prodotte. Il web, inoltre, ha reso da un lato molto più "democratico" l'accesso alle fonti e alla loro interpretazione creando un ambito in cui storici professionisti e amatoriali mostrano le proprie ricerche e in cui gruppi e comunità trovavo sovente spazio di esprimere la propria visione della storia. Il corso di Storia Pubblica Digitale intende fornire una panoramica delle modifiche apportate dall'irruzione dei nuovi media nel lavoro dello storico e le opportunità e i problemi nel lavoro del Public Historian.
Il corso incoraggia gli studenti a pensare in modo critico e consapevole alle problematiche scaturite dall'uso dei nuovi media per la ricerca, l'uso, la memorizzazione e la visualizzazione di informazioni storiche. Nel farlo impegna gli studenti in un progetto concreto: nel primo semestre 2016 la raccolta di testimonianze audio di giovani migranti e la preparazione di un audio documentario.

The digital revolution had a profound impact on the way in which today's history is studied, analyzed, shared as well as the way hostorical sources are published, stored and even produced. The web has also allowed a more "democratic" access to the sources and to their interpretation by creating an environment where professional historians and amateurs show their own researches and where groups and communities often found space to express their vision of history. The course of Public Digital History aims to provide an overview of the changes produced by the irruption of new media in the work of the historian and of the opportunities and problems in the Public Historian work.
The course encourages students to think critically and consciously to the use of new media for historical research, the production, the storage and the pubblication of historical contents. It engages students in a practical project: the collection of audio interviews of young migrants and the preparation of a audio or video documentary.
Per l'accertamento delle conoscenze si valuterà il progetto d'esame e si discuteranno le letture e i materiali didattici nell'esame orale.

Valutazione del progetto d'esame sia in corso d'opera che nel momento dell'esame finale. Laboratorio nel corso del semestre con controllo periodico dei prodotti.
Evaluation of the project with periodic checks
Lavoro di gruppo (coppia probabilmente) nella registrazione e montaggio interviste; coordinamento con la classe per la costruzione di un prodotto finale (audio o video documentario) unitario; interazione con ragazzi provenienti da altri paesi al fine di farsi raccontare le loro storie.
Gli studenti devono
* intervistare con una scaletta predisposta minori immigrati (16-18 anni): due studenti insieme intervistano uno o due minori; interviste anonime, solo audio
* Registrare e archiviare l'audio completo dell'intervista
* Ragionare sulle modalità di uscita creando il format
* Cercare le musiche adatte e crea pare un primo file audio provvisorio
* Presentarlo e correggerlo nella versione definitiva
* Valutare in gruppo le modalità di un audio o video collettivo in cui gli studenti raccontano la propria esperienza
Group work (probably a couple) in the recording and editing the interviews; coordination with the class for the construction of a final product (audio or video documentary); interaction with young people from other countries in order to have them tell their stories.
Students have to
* interview immigrant minors (16-18 years)
* Record and store the complete audio interview
* Reasoning on the output mode by creating the format
* Look for a suitable music and creates a first audio product
* Correct the final version
* Evaluate in groups how to tell this experience
