Il laboratorio si svolge attraverso una serie di visite in situ, dedicate allo studio diretto di opere d'arte contemporanea appartenenti a musei o installate in luoghi pubblici.
Compito principale del laboratorio è quello di rafforzare nello studente la capacità di leggere e criticamente interpretare l'opera d'arte contemporanea, concentrandosi sui suoi valori espressivi e simbolici, oltre che su aspetti tecnico-materiali.
The workshop takes place through a series of visits in situ, dedicated to the direct study of works of modern and contemporary art belonging to museums or installed in public places.
The main task is to strengthen the student’s ability to read and critically assess modern and contemporary artworks, focusing on their expressive and symbolic values, as well as on their materials and techniques.
Le conoscenze acquisite saranno documentate attraverso una breve relazione orale da compiersi di fronte a un'opera.
The knowledge acquired during the laboratory will be assessed through an oral report, to be carried out in front of an artwork.
Gli studenti dovranno dimostrare di saper parlare di opere d'arte contemporanea, usando un appropriato linguaggio tecnico, identificando il soggetto ed il materiale.
Students are expected to be able to talk about a modern and contemporary artwork, using the appropriate technical language, identify the subject and media.
Ciascuno studente dovrà scegliere un'opera appartenente a un museo (o presente in uno spazio pubblico) e dovrà presentare una breve relazione orale che documenti i risultati delle attività svolte.
Students will select an artwork belonging to a modern and contemporary museum (or a piece installed in a public place) and prepare and present an oral report that documents the results of the project activity.
Gli studenti dovranno acquisire la capacità di osservare con precisione e accuratezza le opere d'arte contemporanea. Dovranno inoltre rafforzare le proprie capacità di lavorare in gruppo e di confrontarsi con colleghi di fronte alle opere.
Students will acquire accuracy and precision observing modern and contemporary artworks. Furthermore, they will need to strengthen their ability to work in a team and to dialogue with colleagues in front of the artworks.
Durante le lezioni gli studenti saranno sollecitati a partecipare attivamente alla discussione.
During the lessons students will be encouraged to actively participate in the discussion.

In base al numero degli studenti iscritti al corso, il prof. Patti sceglierà i musei e le opere d'arte pubblica che saranno oggetto di studio e analisi durante le lezioni. Si prevede di operare comunque all'interno del territorio toscano, con particolare riferimento alle città di Pisa e di Livorno.
L'iscrizione al corso è obbligatoria e dovrà essere effettuata secondo gli strumenti forniti dall'Ateneo. L'iscrizione dovrà essere effettuata anche attraverso un messaggio mail al docente (mattia.patti@unipi.it).
Depending on the number of participants, prof. Patti will choose museums and public artworks which will be presented and discussed during the course. In any case, the in situ lessons will be held within Tuscany, mainly in Pisa and Livorno. Registration for the course is mandatory and must be done according to the tools provided by the University website. The registration must also be made by sending an email to mattia.patti@unipi.it.

Il laboratorio di lettura diretta di opere d'arte contemporanea inizierà mercoledì 6 ottobre 2021 alle ore 14:15. Indicazioni precise sull'orario di svolgimento delle lezioni saranno fornite durante il primo incontro.
